BOLTON CALEDONIA PIPE BAND - LATEST NEWS

The band has had another busy year with repeat events and some new and joint ventures.

Armistice day was spent at Bolton Town Hall entertaining a very appreciative audience. Thank you all who have posted comments on Facebook pages.

Over the festive season, we led both the Wigan and Leigh Santa parades, with a little help from Manchester Phoenix Pipe Band. Both parades were very well received, so a huge thank you to MPPB. There was also the ‘hike the pike’ event, which had us all wearing our Christmas hats. We also had a surprise performance at one of our band members 80th birthday party.

Our usual Burns’ night playing at the ELR in Bury went well, despite the cold, we then had a dash to a second performance that same evening near Bolton.

Thank you Bolton Masonic Lodge for inviting us to head their parade to the Parish Church once again this year and we look forward to next year.

Middlebrook Horwich Tesco and their shoppers were very appreciative of our performance in April. We will be back in July and again in September.

The band attended the Manchester Massed Bands remembrance performance, which was well supported and a great event to be involved in.

In the last month, we have performed at the Chipping Steam Fair and also a private wedding in Kirkby Lonsdale, which was a privilege to be part of.

One new piper and two new drummers are now playing with the band, having completed their in-house training. We also have 2 new pipers, a bass and a tenor drummer all currently undergoing training, so we hope to have them playing with us very soon.

As we continue with our joint ventures, we are assisting two other bands on the 8th June in Kirkham and the 23rd June at Stalybridge Carnival.

We look forward to another busy year. A big thank you to all who support us.
